The Schofield 6" steel 4.5mm air revolver is a perfect replica of the 1870 Schofield revolver with steel BB shots. The revolver is all metal with all the details including the cartridges. The gun frame is steel gray and the stock is ivory. The revolver is for 12g CO2 cartridges that are inserted into the handle.
The principle of the CO system: a single-use 12g cartridge is inserted into the weapon and mechanically closed and impaled on the mandrel. When the trigger is pulled, the cock hits the valve striker and the valve opens. This is where CO gas from the cartridge begins to flow, which propels the bullet out of the barrel. One cartridge lasts about 60-80 shots, depending on the model of the weapon, the ambient temperature and the rate of fire. Cartridges are disposable, they must be fired and not left in the gun under unnecessary pressure.
