Windmill pump manufacturer Hill has produced a fully automatic electric air compressor. Compressor The Hill EVO-310 high-pressure compressor is a replacement for the previous Hill EC 3000 model. The EVO 310 compressor fills with air up to a pressure of 4500psi (310BAR).
The Hill compressor uses newly patented technology developed specifically for this project. The compressor is completely unique and fully independent. The compressor monitors the air pressure and temperature and automatically shuts off when the required pressure is reached. The compressor is equipped with a thermal fuse that protects it against overheating. The compressor is air-cooled.
The compressor is used for filling with air only. The Hill compressor is not intended for filling other gases and is not intended for filling diving cylinders either.
The compressor is equipped with a moisture filter that completely removes moisture from the compressed air thanks to the expansion chamber at the beginning of the outlet hose from the compressor. Water is drained from this chamber in the lower part through a valve after each use of the compressor.
The compressor has an input power of approx. 750 watts, so it is possible to power it from the power plant. The manufacturer states a starting power of 6.5 kW, but this is a highly inflated figure that needs to be taken with a grain of salt. We know from our own experience that power plants with a power of about 2.5 kW can drive the compressor.
The Hill compressor compresses 17 liters of air per minute. For example, if you have a 0.5 liter cartridge in a gun with a pressure of 150 BAR and you need to refill to 300 Bar, the filling time will be 0.5 liter x 150 (number of missing bars up to 300) / 17 (number of liters per minute) = 4.41 minutes. Filling a 3 liter bottle from 150 Bar to 300 Bar will take approx. 26.47 minutes (3 x 150 / 17 = 26.47)
If the compressor is in an environment below 5 °C it will not start until it reaches above this temperature.
