At 11:18 p.m. Friday, Cheltenham Township Police went to the Lynnewood Gardens apartments after a report of a shooting.
They found Jasper Brisbon, 32, in the living room of one of the units, with a gunshot wound to his torso. He was taken to Abidngton Memorial Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
Police said Brisbon had forced his way into an apartment and confronted a resident, who got an AR-15 and insisted Brisbon leave.
When Brisbon approached him instead, the resident fired one shot, then called 911, authorities said.
The resident has not been charged with a crime, said Montgomery County First Assistant District Attorney Kevin Steele.
